Orde Street is currently undergoing a Program Area Review by TDSB to address our significant capacity issues. The Program Area Review will also include Kensington Community School and King Edward Jr & Sr Public School, and includes a review of school boundaries (catchment area) and grade configuration changes.
Orde is currently at 92% capacity with 0 available classrooms. Some classes are taking place in the foyer.
If no changes are made:
We will be short a classroom by September (-1 classroom), operating at 96% capacity.
In 5 years, we will be at 117% capacity with a shortage of 5 classrooms (-5 classrooms).
By 2040, we would be at 165% and short 14 classrooms (-14 classrooms).
Future numbers are based on the number of developments in the area and account for international students.
Kensington remains a JK -6 school
Orde St becomes a JK-6 school
Orde St Grade 7s and 8s go to Ryerson Community School
